Pickwell ESTATE
Mike, Tika and their children love living in Pickwell, a Victorian Estate of 100+ acres in the heart of Sussex, spending time with their family and friends in the gardens, woods and parkland, taking in the views of the palm trees, rockeries, fields, woods, lakes and paddocks with flying displays by House Martins, Swallows, Wagtails, Woodpeckers, Pheasants, Geese, Kestrels and Buzzards.
Spring brings Nature into another cycle of Re-birth around the Estate and with YogaByNature, a new venue has been created for yoga lovers to bring their practice out of the cities and into the calm and tranquility surrounding Pickwell.
YogaByNature offers a Yoga Studio and private gardens, open to bookings for Classes, Half-Day & Day retreats. Guests can walk around the estate all year round, watching the seasons change and enjoy life by a lake’s edge, to watch the wildlife and maybe a Heron waiting for Carp, Rudd and Tench to swim by.
If you are visiting Sussex and enjoy country living, why not stay with us in The Stables, which Darren and Glen have recently turned into a luxury, open-plan house for up to 6 guests, with lots of outside space and decking for people who love relaxing and entertaining?
The Stables
Accommodation
The Pickwell Estate was built and owned by the Stephenson Clarke family for over 100 years and is the sister estate to Borde Hill. The Stables used to be an essential part of every Victorian estate and we've turned ours into a luxury Holiday home, ready for you to enjoy.
There are 2 double bedrooms (one of which has an en-suite WC and bath for relaxing in) with private stable doors, opening to the vast outside decking for you to enjoy a morning coffee. There is a second WC with large walk-in shower for the other guests. There's a large open-plan Family Room with L-shaped sofa (converting to a double bed when needed), fitted kitchen with Miele dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and a range cooker with 6 gas burners and 2 electric ovens for those who love cooking. The Flat TV will swivel for those at the breakfast bar or those relaxing on the sofa. The bi-fold doors open out to the decking and is perfect for opening up the house for spring and summer gatherings. There is an additional decking area for you and your friends to eat and drink outside and benches for you to sit on, when you want to watch the birds flying and sun setting.
If your schedule allowed, you could even enjoy a Half-Day and Full-Day Yoga Retreat.
Built in 1884 with its vaulted ceilings, there are power outlets with USB charging points in all the right places, arguably the fastest fibre Internet & WiFi in an English stable (1Gbps), shelves with books and plants, always-on hot water, dog-roof garden, electric outdoor power outlets (including one for your Electric Vehicle), private entrance and plenty of Horsebox & car parking.
As The Stables are detached, private and photogenic, it is well suited to media interviews.
